General Information about Test Results
In the majority of cases the results will be within Normal or expected limits and in these circumstances your Doctor may ask that you are informed your result in normal when you enquire.
Should the Doctor need to discuss the result with you they will ask our reception team to contact you and arrange an on the day telephone consultation.

Results of Smear Tests
Normal smears are recalled every 3 years or if you have abnormal smears it may be more frequently. Sometimes a smear is inadequate you will be called by the

Smear results can take a few weeks to come back from the Cytology Department, you should also receive a copy of the result in the post.
Results for patients over 16years can only be given to the patient.
